Dewdrops
Dewdrops (dd) are the currency of Aspasia, and they look like little white crystals. Dewdrops are how you and your characters buy items from the marketplace, pay other members for goods and services, and buy things IC. While your character may be as rich or poor as you wish IC (you do not need to spend any of your dewdrops to play out a scene in a bar, pay rent, or whatever else you desire), you do need dewdrops to buy extras from the in-game store. Because dewdrops are an exciting way to enhance the game, there are many different ways to earn them.
Please note that asking or begging other members for dewdrops in not permitted and will result in a warning.
Ways of Earning Dewdrops:
- Joining - Just by joining you earn 250dd per account. What better way to get started then to start off with some bonus cash?!
- Referring - Referring friends to LOA will earn you an additional 250dd per friend. However, please do not refer yourself or any character accounts. That is considered cheating and will result in a warning/ban depending on severity.
- Posting - Each new IC post earns you 10dd. Longer posts (over 250 words) also give you the opportunity to earn a small amount of bonus points depending on length.
- Polls - Answering site-wide polls awards you 5dd automatically.
- Selling art/items/coding - You can sell your unused items, art, coding, characters, etc, to other members for dewdrops. Items that have been applied to a character account may not be resold
- Purchasing Point Packages - LOA has an option to purchase dewdrops with USD. It is as simple as a click of a button. Many of the point packs also come with bonus items to enhance your in-game experience. Purchasing point packages also helps fund the site (hosting and domain fees, new skins, artwork, etc), so every donation matters!
- Participating in Site-Wide and Member Contests - Usually these types of contests and events have awards and prizes. They are an awesome way to gain additional points while having fun. If you would like to host a contest and need help with prizes, feel free to send staff a PM.
- Colosseum Battles - Battling in the Colosseum is a good way to earn extra points. Even at the lowest level your points multiply per win. You may participate in Colosseum battles once per character per week.
- Posting in Cities - Posting in any and all of the cities doubles the dewdrops you earn from posting. Because cities are meant to have more action and drama, they allow a bonus reward for all posts and threads.
The Marketplace
The Marketplace is LOA's official store. Items purchased here, are primarily bought and paid for with dewdrops (except Colosseum items and special items that can only be earned in contests and site-wide events).
There will be several sales per year where rare items are restocked for a limited period of time, and other items will be discounted. Sales will be announced at least one week in advance with the time and date of the sale. These sales typically last for less than 24 hours.
Dewdrops and Packages will also go on sale a couple times a year. Sales will generally occur within a month of a store sale, and will be announced prior to the dates of it occurring. These sales typically last a few days.
Dewdrops and Items:
- MAY NOT be sold for real-life currency or DA points.
- Certain items MAY NOT be given or sold to another member/character after they have been applied to a character account.
- May be sold/traded for other in-game items, artwork, dewdrops, adoptables, coding, etc.
- May be used as prizes for contests.
- May be gifted to other members/characters if they have not been applied to a character account.
- Colosseum Items and Feathers are non-transferable.
Character Application:
- Items need to be in a character's inventory before they can be used.
- Most items will remain in the character inventory for repeated use, but one-time use items (such as birthing and appearance items) will be removed by staff after they're applied.
- Items such as immortality and companions need staff approval before they may be used.
- Items that are applied to character accounts (and are not removed by staff after use) include all types of magic, immortality, roselynn stones, companions, elixirs of shifting, and sub-boards. All of these items (except sub-boards) may not be re-sold or gifted to other members/characters after they have been used.
- Most enhancements, potions, and effect items may be used multiple times and resold and/or gifted after they have been on a character account. HOWEVER, once they leave that character's inventory, they can no longer be used on that account replaced.
