Respect: Respect is key on Lucid. Respect everyone, members and guests alike. We aim to create a positive and encouraging environment for everyone. If you have a dispute please take it somewhere private or ask a staff member for help.
Accounts: Lucid is an account per member site. Please keep track of your characters in a character log or journal.
Age: All members must be at least 18 years of age to join Lucid. Because of this please be sure to enter your birthdate at the time of registration. This is to ensure that the mature content filter works properly.
Activity and Absences: Activity is strongly encouraged on Lucid, however, we also understand that you will not always have the ability to be around. If you will be gone for an extended period, please let us know on the absence board to keep your accounts from deletion. If an account has not been logged in within three months it will be marked “inactive”, and if it has not been logged into in six months, it is at risk of deletion. Please bear in mind that an account that has been deleted will have to start over from scratch..
Mature Threads: Strong language, violence, and some suggestive content is allowed on Lucid. However, please fade to black when things get going.
Tables and Formatting: To ensure that our boards don't stretch on smaller screens please ensure that your tables are 650px wide or less (or use percentages instead of fixed values). If you are not using a table, or are using a transparent background, please leave all font colors set at default. This is to keep them from clashing with other skins.
Member Store Items: Members may not sell in-game items to other members for real money or DA points. However, trading in-game items for artwork, other in-game items, holding contests, or selling for in game currency is permitted.
Advertising Other Sites: Please post advertisements to other sites on the PLUG-IN board ONLY.
Advertising Artwork/Coding/etc: You are permitted to discuss advertisements to artwork and coding on the proper boards. You may also post links in the c-box as long as you keep it to a minimum and don't harass other members to buy your stuff. Lastly, all monetary and DA point transactions need to be discussed off-site. Staff are not responsible for member to member transactions.
Chatbox/Discord Please keep c-box and discord conversations appropriate. If someone is uncomfortable with a topic, please change the subject. This also means that any and all disputes should be taken somewhere private. The c-box and discord are public chat platforms and we want to show our best faces to guests, visitors, and members alike.
Setting: Lucid is set on the continent of Aspasia in pre-modern times (think high fantasy/medieval literature), so there aren't any cars, computers, trains, electricity, etc (though clothing spanning a wide range of cultures and eras is permitted).
Word Count: Lucid has a minimum word count of 50 words, and please remember to use the "yes, and" style of writing.
Tagging: Lucid uses an automatic tagging system. The most reliable method of tagging is @[Character’s Name]. Make sure all capitalization is correct for the tag to work.
Entering Lucid: Characters do not have to be residents of Aspasia to be played on Lucid. For those new to the land, they may enter magically through one of the portals. While we suggest that you post new residents under The Portals board, portals are scattered all throughout the land of Aspasia so characters may enter anywhere you wish.
Seasons: Seasons change on the first day every two months. A new year will roll over every eight months.
Aging: Even though this is an equine RPG we use a human system of aging where characters become adults at 18 years of age and live to be between 75 and 100 years of age unless they are immortal. That being said, age characters at whatever rate you'd like, no one is keeping track
Claiming/Recruiting: Characters may not claim or recruit another character or claim land until they are at least 18 years of age. Characters only need a minimum of 5 IC posts to claim IC.
Challenging: Characters may not challenge for land until they are 18 years of age, have the minimum required followers for the land they are trying to claim, a minimum of 10 IC posts, and the character should have registered on Lucid at least 30 days prior to challenging. Please see the Claims, Challenging, and Battles guide for more information.
Non-Player Characters (NPC's): Non-Player Characters: NPC’s are allowed for small functions on LOA. They can be used as shop-keepers, performers, etc. However, please keep it realistic and do not abuse this feature. If you would like someone to play a NPC for plotting purposes, please contact a staff member to let them know.
Character Designs: Lucid allows members to create equine characters of any kind with any kind of accessories and costumes. As long as they're vaguely equine, you're good to go! Creativity is encouraged!
Minimum Age If you want to create a character that is less than 16 years of age, they must be accompanied by an adult.
Breeding:Lucid does not keep track of breedings or births, and simply requires that you register the new foal before it is born. That being said, members may create foals of the parents with any design as long as it follows the sitewide rules and rules for character creation.
Pregnant Characters: If you want to create a pregnant character, applications for both the parent and the foal will need to be filled out.
Birthing: While birthing threads are allowed, please don't get graphic and fade to black when necessary.
Height: Characters may be created between 8hh and 25hh
Immortality: Characters may not be created with immortality without the proper item, however they may gain it in a plethora of ways listed in the immortality guide. If a character has immortality in their backstory, they lose it upon entering Aspasia.
Magic: All characters have a propensity towards magic in Aspasia, however, all characters will lose any pre-existing magic upon entering the world and must regain or earn it through hard work and dedication. Please see the MAGIC GUIDE for details.
Credits: Please include credits for all images and tables (including your own). This can be in any format as long as it’s legible. Links of some kind are preferable over plain text. Please be sure to include links to any profile images, avatars, icons, etc, in the credits section of the profile.
*The code to create links is <*a href="URL">Link Name<*/a>. Just remove the stars and you should be good to go!
Images: Please only use images and/or designs that you have permission to use. Any images off of google, wikipedia, pinterest, or similar sites are prohibited. Furthermore, please check with the rules of stock providers. Some providers have stricter rules for their images. Please be sure that you are following them.
Profile Credits: Please be sure to credit all images you will be using on-site in your profile. There is a specific section for credits on your profile, so please be sure to link each one directly to the artist or artwork. This protects us from accusations of art theft, and ensures that everyone and everything has been properly credited. Thank you!

Style Tags: Yes! We do allow html and style tags in our posts. If you want to create a CSS table, please be sure to use [*style]and [*/style] tags, and that all line breaks and other white space (except spaces) are removed. This will ensure your lovely code will work properly. Good luck!!
